Rustic Wine Corkscrew
Great wine tastes better if you open the bottle with a fancy handmade wine opener.
These wine corkscrews are made using a combination of traditional and modern blacksmith techniques. The handle is made by twisting a length of square metal.
The corkscrew itself starts as a salvaged spring coil - like you might find on a garage door. This type of steel is stronger than normal steel and withstands the pressures put on it when opening a bottle.
The steel is heated up, unwound, and then twisted around a nail to create the final corkscrew. The two pieces are then joined by a rivet on the top of the handle and a weld on the underside.
