The face is loosely based on a violin
The angle slide.
Forging and laying out the pieces for the face. A template was drawn out on board and then each piece of metal was forged and fit into place.

Two different layouts for the legs. The bottom layout was chosen and the first scroll is being fit into place.
To give the piece a classical look, the scrolls for the legs were 'wrapped' with metal collars. This technique was used to join metal back in the day when welding was not yet an option.

The throat of the base, this was a last minute addition to give the bottom of the stand a little more balance.
